Meet Michelle Wall
Michelle Wall is the most experienced Democratic candidate for Delaware’s 9th Representative District. She believes effective governing starts with being engaged in the community and working with people of all backgrounds and viewpoints to find practical solutions and do what is best for the people she serves.
District 9 is the middle ground of Delaware, and Michelle believes the district deserves thoughtful, steady leadership—leadership focused on protecting quality of life, strengthening public schools, and restoring both transparency and trust in state government.
After moving to Middletown in 2009, Michelle put down deep roots in the community. Together, with her husband, she raised two daughters while building a career in nonprofit and public service. Michelle has served in state agencies including the Office of Women’s Advancement and Advocacy, and has served in roles supporting the MS Society, Make-A-Wish, Kind to Kids, and the Delaware Early Childhood Council. Her work earned her the Outstanding Young Wilmingtonian Award by the Jaycees in 2018, participation in Leadership Delaware in 2014, Delaware Business Times 40 under 40 in 2016, and the Delaware Young Mother of the Year and National Mother of the Year from American Mothers in 2016. As part of her ongoing work with American Mothers, Michelle serves on a delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
As a proud public school mom, her commitment to service led her to serve two terms on the Appoquinimink School Board. She was first elected in May 2015 and completed her service in June 2025. On the board, Michelle focused on fairness, transparency, supporting educators, and making sure every child—especially those without strong advocates—had a voice.
Michelle’s career has been defined by turning advocacy into action. With decades of experience in nonprofit and community leadership, she has worked to solve real problems and deliver real results.
During her time on the School Board, Michelle worked with legislators in Dover to modernize Delaware’s outdated student measurement system so fast-growing districts like Appoquinimink could receive fair state support without shifting more costs onto local taxpayers. She will continue that work when elected because she understands firsthand how state decisions affect classroom outcomes, family finances, and community stability.
As the district continues to grow and change, Michelle is focused on ensuring the area remains a place where families can put down roots, children can grow up, and seniors can age with dignity.
As a State Representative, Michelle will focus on:
Education funding reform that reflects growth and puts students first
Smart land use and affordable housing, preserving farmland, open space, and community character while planning responsibly for the future
Improving access to healthcare, so families can thrive at every stage of life
Better communication and transparency, ensuring residents are informed and engaged before decisions are made
Accessible, responsive leadership, so residents feel heard and see solutions
